Starting from the fair’s headquarters, a walking tour will take place along the Costanera of Asunción, a place where 296 bird species have already been recorded. September is already the season for shorebirds and seedeaters! The walk may surprise you with the great variety of birds that can be observed.

The Bajo Chaco, with areas such as Villa Hayes, Estancia Golondrina, and Km 88, is one of the most valuable regions of Paraguay for birdwatching. Its mosaic of wetlands, savannas, and riverside forests provides diverse habitats that sustain a great wealth of species.
Among them, the Strange-tailed tyrant (Alectrurus risora) stands out, an emblematic species of the area considered globally vulnerable. Its presence makes the Bajo Chaco a privileged destination for birdwatchers and biodiversity enthusiasts, reinforcing the region’s value as a key space for ecotourism and environmental education.
